A round birch ring, 36 mm deep, supplied without fabric – the same frame we stretch our own round canvases on. Once stretched, it gives you a gallery-depth canvas with edges you can paint. We do the milling and gluing; fabric, tension and primer are up to you – in 18 sizes.

Birch multiplex makes this 36 mm round frame hard and warp-free – the safe choice for linen or large sizes up to Ø 200 cm. It is made for anyone who chooses their own fabric – in classes, in the studio or for custom grounds. A pocket rebate on the front keeps the fabric off the wood; the bar width grows with the size from about 4 to 8 cm.

From Ø 30 cm to Ø 200 cm

18 sizes from Ø 30 cm to Ø 200 cm are available for the 36 mm round frame in birch – the smallest from €45.00. For comparison: Ø 80 cm costs €106.00 in this version. From Ø 130 cm we fit a centre cross as standard; in birch at 36 mm the ring is stable without it too – just let us know if you would rather not have one. Intermediate sizes on request.

How do I fix the fabric to the round frame? With a hand or air stapler on the back; at Ø 80 cm the bars leave a good 5 cm for folding over, up to 8 cm in the large sizes.

Which fabric suits the round frame in birch at 36 mm? Cotton and linen both work. For large round sizes up to Ø 200 cm we recommend linen on birch, as it holds tension better.

Frame depth 36 mm: Noticeably more substantial and dimensionally stable – even in large formats. In birch multiplex the frame is very stable even without a centre brace.
