Meet Jeannette & Karsten
We are Jeannette and Karsten — makers and the heart behind Xanadu Frames. From our workshop in Chemnitz, Germany, we hand-build every canvas and frame ourselves, one by one, exactly the way you need it.
What started as a passion for quality craftsmanship has grown into a studio trusted by artists and interior designers across Europe. Every groove, every cross-brace, every metre of canvas tension is done by hand — because that is the only way we know how to work.

We build round frames and stretcher bars up to 300 cm in diameter — and even further for custom commissions. Finished and stretched, or as a compact flat-pack kit.
Our modular kit system means that even the largest formats ship in compact boxes, keeping international delivery genuinely affordable. Final assembly takes just minutes on your end.

Staples sit on the back only — all sides and the face are completely paint-ready and smooth.
Cross brace from 130 cm
Every frame 130 cm and larger includes a wooden cross brace to prevent warping.
Pine or birch plywood
Sustainably sourced regional pine and birch-ply — dimensionally stable and reliably durable.
Custom-made designs
Every shape, every dimension — we build to your specification. Oval, portal and more.
Rebate milling
A milled groove keeps the canvas slightly elevated so it never presses on the frame wood.

Our values
Craft, quality & responsibility
Every frame we build is a piece of craft — designed to last, not to be replaced. We source our wood from regional suppliers in Germany and cut every part to the exact size needed, minimising material waste at every step.
Our packaging is planned carefully so that each shipment uses only as much material as is actually required. For large formats, the modular kit approach does double duty: it reduces box volume and makes international shipping genuinely practical.
We are a small family business and we intend to stay that way — because that is what lets us put real attention into every single order.
