Our round canvas represents genuine German craftsmanship: produced in Chemnitz and made to order individually for you. Each canvas is built with precision, stretched by hand, and carefully inspected – for a result you can see and feel.

Which frame depth is right for me?

Linen 400 g/m² – The Foundation for Professional Results

For our round stretcher frames we use a linen fabric weighing 400 g/m². It offers a quality feel, good strength, and is excellently suited to detailed painting as well as bold paint application.

2-Coat Priming – Fine Texture, Strong Paint Adhesion

Every canvas is prepared with two coats of white primer applied with minimal environmental impact. The surface is finely textured yet hard-wearing – for excellent paint absorption and enduringly brilliant results.

Front Groove Routing – Prevents Pushing Through When Painting

A defining quality feature: the groove routing on the front face ensures the fabric does not rest directly on the round wooden frame. This prevents pressure marks and frame impressions when painting – particularly important with larger round canvases.

Drum-Tight Hand-Stretching & Clean Edges

The canvas is stapled all around on the reverse and hand-stretched drum-tight. The result: a calm, even surface and cleanly tensioned sides – ideal for modern compositions extending close to the edge.

Is the round canvas suitable for oil painting?
Yes. The canvas is double white-primed and works very well for oil as well as acrylic. For very fatty or glazing oil layers, many artists recommend an additional final ground or suitable isolation layer – depending on technique. Can I order unprimed or with a different priming?
In many cases, yes. If you would like to work with an unprimed, transparent, or specially primed surface, please contact us before ordering – special requests are often possible. What does the front groove routing do for me?
The groove routing ensures the fabric does not rest directly on the wooden frame. This reduces pressure marks and frame impressions when painting – especially under heavy brush or palette knife pressure. Which frame depth should I choose (24 / 36 / 48 mm)?

The birch multiplex frame is engineered for high dimensional stability. The drum-tight hand-stretching additionally ensures even tension throughout. As with all natural materials: extreme conditions (very humid or very dry) should be avoided where possible. How do I hang the round canvas?
Depending on size and frame depth, sturdy screws with wall plugs and suitable picture hangers work well, for example. If you wish, we are happy to send you a brief recommendation suited to your diameter and wall type (concrete, plasterboard, etc.). Are custom sizes or special productions possible?
