A shadow-gap frame for your round canvas

A shadow-gap frame surrounds the canvas without touching it, leaving a narrow gap between the edge of the painting and the wood. That line of shadow makes the artwork appear to float – perfect for pieces with painted edges or for anyone who prefers no mount.

Made for 24 mm canvases

The 38 mm depth suits canvases on 24 mm stretchers, the most common depth. The canvas sits fully inside the frame while a slim beech rim outlines the picture. For deeper canvases on 36 or 48 mm stretchers, choose the 50 mm version.

Pure beech – or oiled

Milled from solid beech, glued, nailed at the back and finely sanded several times. Left raw, the frame shows the light, even beech surface, ready for your own stain or glaze. On request we oil it with linseed oil, which deepens the tone and brings out the grain.

Getting the size right

The size refers to the outer diameter, which is 5 cm larger than your canvas: a 60 cm canvas takes the 65 cm frame. Available from 15 to 205 cm, intermediate sizes on request.
