Why a round 36 mm deep

Round means no corners and no fixed orientation – ideal for motifs that work from the centre outwards. At a gallery depth of 36 mm, the round canvas in pine with cotton stands clearly off the wall; the edges become part of the picture. The cotton (380 g/m²) goes onto the 36 mm pine stretcher triple-primed or, for your own ground, unprimed.

What pine with cotton at 36 mm is for

In the round shape, pine with cotton is the most affordable version – right for acrylics, practice, classes and hobby painting. At 36 mm no picture frame is needed: the painted edges finish the work. Pine is our entry wood: light, affordable and low-warp up to about 120 cm – here from €52.00. Good subjects for this shape in pine: mandalas, flowers of life and other circular motifs.

From Ø 30 cm to Ø 200 cm

The range for the 36 mm round canvas in pine with cotton runs from Ø 30 cm to Ø 200 cm: 18 sizes, starting at €52.00. For comparison: Ø 80 cm costs €120.00 in this version. From Ø 130 cm we add a centre cross so the canvas stays true. Intermediate sizes on request.

Questions about the round canvas in pine, 36 mm

How do I hang the round canvas at 36 mm? It looks best centred above a sofa, bed or chest of drawers – or as a group of several diameters. The back is tacked all round and the stretcher takes standard picture hangers.

Is the round canvas in pine available unprimed? Yes, choose “unprimed” above and you get raw cotton for your own ground.

Can I paint in oils on the round canvas in pine? Yes, the triple primer takes oil. From about 120 cm – possible here up to Ø 200 cm – linen stretches less and is the better choice for oils.

Frame depth 36 mm: Noticeably more substantial and dimensionally stable – even in large formats.

Round canvas with 36mm pine wood frame, cotton-stretched: Crafted in Germany Experience the quality of German craftsmanship with our round canvases. Manufactured in Chemnitz, Germany, each canvas is made individually to order with care and precision. Every piece is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity attesting to its uniqueness and quality.

Quality you can feel

Our canvases feature a hand-crafted round pine wood frame, known for its durability and stability. The stretched surface is a heavy cotton fabric at 380g/m², providing an excellent foundation for your artwork.

Sustainability meets fine art

Each canvas comes factory triple-primed in white, giving it a fine, resilient texture. This construction ensures excellent paint absorption and prevents flaking, so your work retains its quality over time.

Precision in every detail

The 36mm round pine wood frame prevents any warping, and together with the canvas stapled to the reverse all the way around, ensures a drum-tight stretch. A routed groove on the front face prevents the canvas from resting against the wooden frame, eliminating any give when painting.

Versatility that inspires

Suitable for acrylic, oil, gouache, tempera, and finger paints — our canvases are the right choice for a wide range of painting techniques. Available in diameters from 30cm to 200cm. If you require a specific size, please do not hesitate to contact us. Handstretched with care in Chemnitz, Germany.

Which wood is right for you?
