Round Canvas — Birch Frame 48 mm, 400 g Linen, Ø 30–200 cm

Round Canvas – birch, 48 mm

A round canvas breaks up the usual rectangle on the wall and draws the eye into the centre. The round canvas in birch with linen is our deepest version: 48 mm, the painting stands almost 5 cm off the wall. The linen weighs 400 g/m², is triple-primed and keeps the tension even across the whole round canvas on the 48 mm birch stretcher.

Birch and linen, 48 mm: the right match?

Birch with linen is our premium round combination – made for oil painting, commissions and work for sale or exhibition. At 48 mm the painting becomes a wall object – especially from about 80 cm. The hard birch plies hold the tension of 400 g linen for years, even in the largest size of Ø 200 cm. In birch at 48 mm, this shape suits mandalas, flowers of life and other circular motifs.

From Ø 130 cm we fit a centre cross as standard; in birch at 48 mm the ring is stable without it too – just let us know if you would rather not have one. Intermediate sizes on request.

Questions about the round canvas in birch, 48 mm

How do I hang the round canvas at 48 mm? It looks best centred above a sofa, bed or chest of drawers – or as a group of several diameters. The back is tacked all round and the stretcher takes standard picture hangers.

Does the linen on the round canvas in birch work for acrylics too? Yes. Linen takes acrylics just as well and stays tauter than cotton – from about 150 cm it is the better choice for acrylics too, and this shape goes up to Ø 200 cm.

Why does the linen version cost more? Linen is considerably more expensive than cotton and is joined in lengths for large sizes – at Ø 80 cm this version costs €210.

Frame depth 48 mm: Gallery depth – a bold side profile that looks great without an additional frame and the most stable choice for very large formats.
