Multiplex statt MDF
Bare frame – pine, 24 mm
A square pine frame with rounded corners, 24 mm deep, supplied without fabric. Once stretched, it makes a flat, classic canvas. Milled and glued, it is ready for your fabric, from the smallest size of 20×20 cm up to 200×200 cm.
Pine multiplex in detail
Pine multiplex keeps this 24 mm QuadraSoft square frame light and affordable – from €31.00 up to 200×200 cm. It is made for anyone who chooses their own fabric – in classes, in the studio or for custom grounds. So that nothing presses through while you paint, the 24 mm pine frame has a pocket rebate on the front; bars are 4 to 8 cm wide depending on size.
Finding the size
The range for the 24 mm QuadraSoft square frame in pine runs from 20×20 cm to 200×200 cm (width × height): 19 sizes, starting at €31.00. For comparison: 80×80 cm costs €86.00 in this version. Large sizes get a centre cross from 130 cm side length, so the tension holds. Intermediate sizes on request.
Questions about the QuadraSoft square frame in pine, 24 mm
Is 24 mm the right depth? For the QuadraSoft square frame, 24 mm gives classic, flat paintings. For painted edges choose 36 mm, for a strong object effect 48 mm – both also in pine.
How do I fix the fabric to the QuadraSoft square frame? With a hand or air stapler on the back; at 80×80 cm the bars leave a good 5 cm for folding over, up to 8 cm in the large sizes.
Which wood is right for you?
Pine Multiplex – Standard
- More affordable and lighter than birch
- Ideal for acrylics and thin oils
- Standard formats up to 150 cm
- Suitable for hobby and personal use
- Great for dry techniques
Birch Multiplex – Premium
- Harder, denser and 100 % warp-free
- Ideal for wet techniques (watercolour, ink)
- For heavy techniques (palette knife, resin)
- For sale, exhibitions and galleries
- Oversized formats up to 300 cm
Rule of thumb: up to 150 cm and dry techniques → Pine. From 150 cm, for sale or wet/heavy techniques → Birch.
