Birch with linen is our premium QuadraSoft square combination – made for oil painting, commissions and work for sale or exhibition. At 48 mm the painting becomes a wall object – especially from about 80 cm. Birch multiplex is hard and warp-free – stretched with 400 g linen it keeps its shape even at 200 cm. Good subjects for this shape in birch: abstract and graphic work, series and triptychs.

From 20×20 cm to 200×200 cm

19 sizes from 20×20 cm to 200×200 cm (width × height) are available for the 48 mm QuadraSoft square canvas in birch with linen – the smallest from €91. For comparison: 80×80 cm costs €282 in this version. From 130 cm side length we add a centre cross so the canvas stays true. Intermediate sizes on request.

Does the linen on the QuadraSoft square in birch work for acrylics too? Yes. Linen takes acrylics just as well and stays tauter than cotton – from about 150 cm it is the better choice for acrylics too, and this shape goes up to 200×200 cm.

Why does the linen version cost more? Linen is considerably more expensive than cotton and is joined in lengths for large sizes – at 80×80 cm this version costs €282.

Is birch worth it for the QuadraSoft square at 48 mm? From about 120 cm, with wet techniques or for work you sell, yes. For small practice pieces from 20×20 cm pine is enough for the QuadraSoft square at 48 mm.
