Product Details
The portal arch at 36 mm
The arch opens the picture like a window: straight below, a semicircle across the full width above. At a gallery depth of 36 mm, the portal arch canvas in pine with cotton stands clearly off the wall; the edges become part of the picture. The cotton weighs 380 g/m² and is triple white-primed – the portal arch is also available unprimed on request.
What pine with cotton at 36 mm is for
In the portal arch shape, pine with cotton is the most affordable version – right for acrylics, practice, classes and hobby painting. At 36 mm no picture frame is needed: the painted edges finish the work. The pine stretcher keeps weight and price down (80×62 cm for €103) and stays straight up to around 120 cm. Good subjects for this shape in pine: window views, architecture, floral and sacred motifs.
Sizes and prices
12 sizes from 30×24 cm to 140×110 cm (height × width) are available for the 36 mm portal arch canvas in pine with cotton – the smallest from €45. For comparison: 80×62 cm costs €103 in this version. From 130 cm height we add a centre cross so the canvas stays true. Intermediate sizes on request.
Questions about the portal arch canvas in pine, 36 mm
Can I paint in oils on the portal arch canvas in pine? Yes, the triple primer takes oil. From about 120 cm – possible here up to 140×110 cm – linen stretches less and is the better choice for oils.
Is pine enough up to 140 cm? Up to about 120 cm, yes. For the large sizes up to 140×110 cm birch stays more stable; the portal arch at 36 mm is also available in birch.
Should I paint the 36 mm edges? Yes, it pays off: from the side the painting looks finished and needs no frame.
