Shadow-gap frame, narrow oval

Long, slender, no corners: the frame surrounds your narrow oval with a constant gap, so the canvas seems to stand free in front of it.

For deep canvases on 36 or 48 mm

At 50 mm deep this frame around the narrow oval is built for canvases on 36 or 48 mm stretcher bars: even deep gallery canvases disappear completely inside, leaving only the painting and the shadow gap in view. Profile and shadow gap are identical to our round beech frames. The same finish is available at 38 mm – switch above.

Painted in the colour you choose

Painted with water-based, solvent-free belton® free and sealed afterwards. Choose RAL shades in matt, satin or high gloss or one of three metallics; the wide side is fully painted too.

Choosing the size

The outer size is 5 cm larger than your canvas, 2.5 cm per side: a 120×72 cm canvas takes the 125×77 cm frame – €749 here. 18 sizes from 35×23 cm to 205×125 cm (width × height), from €449. The narrow oval works landscape as well as upright. Intermediate sizes on request.

Will a 24 mm canvas work in the 50 mm frame? It fits, but sits deep inside and leaves a wide inner edge. For 24 mm canvases the 38 mm version of the narrow oval frame looks better.
